How to play Cinder Cogs

  1. Tap or click the large cog to work the forge. On a keyboard, focus the forge and press Space; holding Space supplies five taps per second. The floating number shows what that input earned.
  2. Spend fifteen cogs on a helper bot. Buy additional machines from the store and compare their displayed production per second with their increasing prices. The owned count appears at the end of each row.
  3. Switch to Upgrades to fit improvements. A machine upgrade requires enough copies of that machine and the displayed cog cost. It doubles production for that entire machine type.
  4. Choose a purchase quantity of one, ten or one hundred. The store buys as many as your balance covers, up to that quantity. Switch to Sell only when you want to trade existing machines back for a smaller refund.
  5. Open Stats to inspect lifetime output, the current run, production rates and achievements. A daily shift asks for a set number of taps and machine purchases. Complete both to collect a stamp, then copy your result if you want to share it.
  6. Open Recast when a blueprint is available. Read the reset details before starting again with the permanent bonus, or close the panel and continue building the same foundry.

Make your move

On your computer

  • Click the large cog to forge; Space works when the forge is focused, with five taps per second while held.
  • Use the mouse or Tab and Enter to buy machines, fit upgrades, change quantities and open panels.
  • Escape closes the current panel or pauses the shift. Left and Right switch between the store tabs when a tab is focused.

On your phone or tablet

  • Tap the large cog to forge and tap store rows to buy.
  • Swipe vertically inside the store to reach later machinery and upgrades. The surrounding page remains scrollable.
  • Use Stats, Recast and the settings button for progress, sound and reduced animation controls.

About Cinder Cogs

Cinder Cogs is a free idle clicker game about turning a small hand-operated forge into a busy industrial workshop. You begin with an empty balance and a large cog to tap. Each tap makes one cog, and fifteen cogs buy the first helper bot. That small machine produces automatically, giving you a choice between clicking for the next purchase and watching the foundry work. As you add bellows, anvils and more advanced equipment, the cutaway building fills with moving machinery. The balance, production rate, price and owned count remain visible so you can judge what each purchase contributes.

The economy grows through purchases and upgrades. Another copy of a machine costs fifteen percent more than the previous one, before rounding, while its base production stays the same. That means the cheapest familiar machine is not always the best investment. Three upgrade tiers double the output of each machine type, and helper-bot upgrades also double your base tap. Later, power-assisted gloves add one percent of passive production to each tap per level. Buying in batches saves repeated button presses; selecting ten or one hundred buys the affordable part of that batch. Selling returns a quarter of the underlying purchase value and reduces production immediately.

Once you have made enough cogs in total, Recast lets you exchange the current foundry for blueprints. Each blueprint permanently adds ten percent to machine production and the base tap. The confirmation panel explains exactly what resets: your balance, owned machines, machine upgrades and glove upgrades. Achievements, lifetime production and daily shift stamps remain. You can keep expanding instead of recasting immediately, especially when you are close to another blueprint. Progress belongs to this browser and saves automatically. Returning after a break brings a clear summary of offline production, capped at eight hours. There are no accounts, paid upgrades or interstitial advertisements inside the game.

A factory you can watch

Eight machine types fill a cutaway workshop: helper bots, bellows, anvil lines, casting moulds, conveyors, smelters, assembly arms and sky cranes. Each has its own animated working process.

Build, improve, repeat

Every machine has three upgrades that double its output. Helper upgrades also improve tapping, and five glove upgrades connect each tap to a percentage of your passive production.

A lasting blueprint

Recast an established foundry to earn permanent production bonuses. Your achievements, lifetime total and daily stamps stay with you, and machines earn for up to eight hours away.

A little help for your next high score

  • Buy the first helper early so your balance can grow between taps. A little passive production makes every later pause more useful.
  • Compare a new machine with an upgrade for the machines you already own. Doubling a large group can be worth more than buying one expensive new machine.
  • The helper upgrades improve both helpers and tapping. They are especially useful while manual forging is still a large part of your income.
  • A bulk purchase uses the same underlying exponential prices. The selected quantity is a maximum, so check the affordable count before clicking a row.
  • Recast is a choice, not a deadline. Check the permanent bonus and the next blueprint threshold before giving up a well-developed foundry.

Good questions

Is Cinder Cogs free to play?

Yes. The complete idle clicker runs free in your browser without an account or download. Machine upgrades, blueprints, achievements and daily shifts are earned by playing.

Does the foundry produce cogs while I am away?

Owned machines earn offline production for up to eight hours. The game adds that amount when you return and shows a summary. Negative clock changes and implausibly large gaps are ignored.

What does Recast reset?

Recast clears your current cog balance, machines, machine upgrades and glove upgrades. It keeps lifetime production, achievements and daily shift stamps, and grants blueprints that permanently add ten percent production each.

Can I play with a keyboard or on a phone?

Yes. Tap the forge and store buttons on touch screens, or use clicking, Tab, Enter and Space on a keyboard. The layout supports portrait and landscape, and settings can reduce machinery animation.

Where is my progress saved?

Progress saves in this browser every five seconds and when you leave. It does not sync between devices. If the browser blocks storage, the game tells you that saving is unavailable.

What are daily shift stamps?

Each UTC date has a repeatable pair of targets for forge taps and machine purchases. Completing both earns a local stamp. Stamps do not multiply production or require a daily streak.
