How to play Dude Ricochet Forge

  1. Press Play. Start opens the next trial you have not cleared, Trials lists all six worlds, and Daily trial loads today’s board. Furnace defense opens the original wave mode.
  2. Aim the cannon. On a computer move the mouse over the board, or hold the arrow keys; Shift makes the arrow keys turn in the finest steps. On a phone, drag anywhere on the board and use the arrow buttons to fine-tune.
  3. Read the dotted sight. It follows the spark through its first bounces and marks each contact. A cross means the spark will be swallowed there.
  4. Fire. A spark passes through every bell it touches, so one clever line can ring several bells. Watch the sparks counter in the top bar and the par beside it.
  5. Use the parts. Tap or click a pivot mirror to turn it, break glass to open a path, bank into gongs, burst boilers near clusters of bells, hit levers to lift gates, and send sparks through portals and prisms.
  6. Clear the board to see your stars, sparks and best, then move on, retry for three stars or watch the winning spark again in slow motion. If you run out of sparks, retry instantly or retry with the hint.

Make your move

On your computer

  • Move the mouse over the board to aim and click to fire. Clicking a pivot mirror turns it instead; Shift-click turns it back.
  • Arrow keys or A/D turn the cannon (hold to sweep, Shift for the finest steps). Space or Enter fires.
  • Keys 1-3 select a pivot mirror and Q/E turn it. R retries, H shows the hint (press twice to line it up), P or Escape pauses, M mutes.
  • Furnace Defense: aim with the mouse or Left/Right, hold Space to fire, 1-3 switch bolt, ice and blast, Q/E and arrows arrange reflectors between waves.

On your phone or tablet

  • Drag anywhere on the board to aim; lifting your finger never fires. The arrow buttons nudge the aim in fine steps, and holding one sweeps.
  • Tap FIRE to send a spark. Tap a pivot mirror, or its Pivot button, to turn it one notch.
  • Hint, Retry and Menu sit in the top bar. Portrait phones turn the board so the cannon sits at the bottom; landscape phones move the controls to the sides.
  • Furnace Defense: drag and release to fire, or hold FIRE while another finger aims.

About Dude Ricochet Forge

Dude Ricochet Forge is an original ricochet puzzle game set on a brass foundry workbench. A small cannon sits at the edge of a tiled table; bells hang between polished brass bars, dark soot blocks and glass panes. Every spark you fire travels in a straight line, bounces off brass, passes through bells and rings them, and stops the moment it meets soot. The goal of each trial is simple: ring every bell before your sparks run out. Doing it in fewer sparks is where the puzzle lives.

The campaign has 120 trials in six worlds of twenty. Bench School teaches banks and blockers. Mirror Loft adds fixed mirrors, round pegs and pivot mirrors that you turn yourself in eight notches. Glassworks brings glass that stops a spark and shatters for the next one, armored gongs that only ring for a spark that has already bounced, and boilers that burst and ring every bell nearby. Clockwork Gallery adds bells that step along a track after each spark, mirrors that turn a notch after every shot, and levers that lift gates of their own colour. Portal Foundry introduces paired steam portals and prisms that split a spark into two at forty-five degrees. The Crucible mixes everything with a shorter sight.

Every trial is checked by a solver that uses exactly the same rules as the game. Each level ships with a certified route. Its par is the fewest sparks that any route with at least 0.3 degrees of aiming room needs, so a par is never a pixel-perfect trick. You always get two spare sparks beyond par. Three stars need par, two stars need one extra spark, and any clear earns one. The dotted sight shows the start of the route and gets shorter in later worlds, so planning the rest of the bounce is up to you.

Stuck players are never locked out or pushed toward an advert. The Hint button shows the certified next shot with an amber guide, and pressing it again lines the cannon and any pivots up exactly. Hints and the optional Long sight assist cap that clear at two stars, so the third star always means an unaided solve. The result screen can replay the winning spark in slow motion. Worlds open when you clear the previous world’s finale or bank enough stars, and three trials ahead of your progress always stay open. The Daily trial serves one certified board per day with a streak counter. Furnace Defense keeps the original six-wave reflector campaign, and existing best scores carry over. 120 trials, every one proven solvable

Six worlds of twenty ricochet puzzles, from a single bank shot to boards full of gongs, portals and prisms. A solver plays every trial on the real rules before it ships, and par is the fewest sparks any fair route needs.

Fifteen kinds of parts

Brass bounces, soot swallows and glass shatters. Pivot mirrors turn when you tap them, gongs need a banked spark, boilers burst, clockwork bells move, levers lift gates, portals relocate a spark and prisms split it in two.

Stars, hints and a daily board

Match par for three stars. A free hint shows the certified route and caps the trial at two stars, never at an ad. A new daily trial each day keeps a streak, and the original Furnace Defense campaign is still here.

A little help for your next high score

  • Start from the bells, not the cannon. Find the one bell that is hardest to reach and work backwards to the rail or mirror that can feed it; the easy bells usually fall on the way.
  • Sparks keep flying after a bell, so look for lines that pass through two or three bells. A single chained spark is how most boards reach par.
  • Soot is a hard stop but also a shield. If the sight ends in a cross, rotate a notch and watch where the first bounce lands instead.
  • Glass costs a spark to open. Break it with a shot that also rings something, or burst a boiler beside it and save the spark altogether.
  • Clockwork bells show their next stop as a dashed ring. Sometimes the right first spark rings another bell and simply waits for the moving one to step into line.

Good questions

Is every trial really solvable?

Yes. Each of the 120 campaign trials and every daily board is played by a solver that uses the game’s own rules. The certified route ships with the level, and the automated tests replay all of them. Par is the fewest sparks any route with at least 0.3 degrees of aiming room needs.

How are stars awarded?

Three stars for clearing at or under par, two stars for one spark over par, and one star for any clear within your sparks. Each trial gives you two spare sparks beyond par. Using a hint or the Long sight assist caps that clear at two stars.

What does the hint do?

It shows the next shot of the certified route with an amber guide, including how to set any pivot mirror. Press Hint again to line the cannon up exactly. If your earlier sparks left the board in a different state, the game offers to restart the trial with the hint on.

How do new worlds open?

A world opens when you clear the final trial of the previous world or when your total stars reach its threshold. Inside a world, the next three trials after any cleared one stay open, so a single stubborn puzzle never blocks the campaign.

Can I still play the original defense mode?

Yes. Furnace Defense keeps the six-wave reflector campaign with bolt, ice and blast shots, six workshop upgrades and the Iron Regent, plus a practice furnace that renews. Earlier best scores and victories are kept.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag to aim, nudge with the arrow buttons and tap FIRE. In portrait the board turns so the cannon sits at the bottom and fills the screen; in landscape the controls move to the sides. Progress saves in this browser on this device.
