Coil Feast.
Curl through a glowing feast against twelve CPU snakes. Spend length on speed, cut ahead and climb the three-minute leaderboard.
How to play Coil Feast
- Press Play, choose Calm, Fair or Sharp, then select Enter arena. Fair is the default. The timer starts at three minutes and the opening food trail gives you a first meal.
- Move your mouse toward the direction you want to travel. On a keyboard, hold A or D, or the left and right arrows. On touch screens, press anywhere in the arena and drag away from that point to use the floating joystick.
- Collect glowing food with your head. Food has different values, and the remains of a defeated snake can be a large meal. Follow the curve of your own body to turn through crowded spaces.
- Hold the left mouse button, Space, the BOOST button or a second finger to accelerate. Boost consumes length and leaves food behind. At the starting length of thirty, eat before trying another burst.
- Keep your head clear of rival bodies and the red circular wall. A head-on contest is decided by current length. Look for a safe exit before cutting across a rival, especially when another snake is already feeding nearby.
- Survive until the clock reaches zero and aim for the largest current length. After a collision or completed round, inspect your result and earned skins, then press Play again. Escape, P or the Pause button stops the clock whenever you need a break.
Make your move
On your computer
- Mouse movement: steer toward the pointer. Hold the left button or Space: boost.
- A / D or Left / Right: turn continuously. Release to continue in the current direction.
- Escape or P: pause or resume. Tab pauses live play and lets you navigate the menus with the keyboard.
On your phone or tablet
- Press and drag anywhere in the arena to steer with a floating joystick. Release a drag to keep the current heading. A quick tap turns toward that point.
- Hold a second finger or the BOOST button while steering to accelerate. Boost spends length.
- Tap Pause to stop the round. Portrait and landscape both work, and the page remains scrollable outside the arena.
About Coil Feast
Coil Feast is a free browser snake arena built around continuous movement and short survival rounds. You begin as a small golden snake in a dark, patterned arena filled with glowing food. Guide the head toward a meal and the body follows the route you just traced. There are no square grid steps or instant direction changes. Turning makes an arc, and growing increases both your reach and your width. The camera follows your head and gradually pulls back as you become larger, keeping the next opening in view.
Each round lasts up to three minutes against twelve local computer opponents. Their names are marked CPU on the arena and leaderboard. Four personalities change what they prefer: gluttons seek food, hunters look for smaller heads, cautious rivals leave more room and cowards avoid close encounters. Calm, Fair and Sharp change how frequently they choose a route and how much risk they take. Every snake still obeys the same movement, boost and collision rules. Defeated CPUs can rejoin elsewhere after a short delay, while losing your own snake ends your attempt immediately.
The central trade is length for speed. Holding boost accelerates your snake and sheds some of its length as edible food behind the tail. That burst can reach a feast first or carry your body across a rival’s path, but an empty burst makes you smaller without earning anything. A head touching another body loses, regardless of which snake is larger. In a direct head-on collision, the larger length wins; exactly equal heads both fall. Your own body is safe to cross. The circular red arena edge is solid, and a warning appears as you approach it. A newly spawned snake has a brief dotted protection halo, giving it room to enter the arena.
A live top-five panel shows current length, and your own rank remains visible even when you are outside that group. The round result records your peak length, final rank, survival time and cut-offs. Best length is saved locally and unlocks Lagoon at 150, Orchid at 350, Ember at 650, Glacier at 1,000 and Moonbeam at 1,600. Finishes are cosmetic: they do not increase speed, shrink collisions or give an advantage. There is no territory to paint, no online-player claim and no currency to buy. Start another round immediately or change the CPU difficulty from the arena menu.
Follow the curve
The head turns through a smooth arc and the body follows its actual path. Larger snakes become wider and turn more slowly, so a clean line matters more as you grow.
Three minutes to feast
Twelve labeled CPU rivals roam one arena. Cautious snakes, hunters, gluttons and cowards have different priorities, with Calm, Fair and Sharp decision levels.
Earn your color
Your best length opens five extra finishes. Every skin has the same movement rules. Records and settings stay in this browser with no account or paid upgrades.
A little help for your next high score
- Take the first food trail before chasing a rival. A slightly longer snake has more room to spend on a useful burst, and a larger head wins a direct head-on meeting.
- Use short boosts with a destination in mind. Boosting into empty space spends your length and gives the snake behind you a trail of food.
- Watch heads as well as bodies. A long snake can turn across your escape path while you are concentrating on its tail. Leave room to finish your own turning arc.
- The wall warning means it is time to curve inward. A large snake turns more slowly, so begin the turn earlier instead of trying to reverse at the red line.
- A fresh defeat attracts other hungry snakes. Approach its food from open space and keep a route out; a smaller safe meal often beats diving straight into a crowd.
Good questions
Is Coil Feast free to play?
Yes. Coil Feast is free in a modern web browser with no download, sign-up or paid upgrades. All CPU difficulties are available immediately, and extra skins unlock through your best length.
Am I playing against real people?
No. Each arena has twelve local computer opponents, clearly labeled CPU. Their four personalities and three difficulty levels change their decisions. No names or scores are uploaded to an online leaderboard.
How does boosting work?
Hold the mouse button, Space, BOOST or a second finger to accelerate. Boost spends your length and drops edible food behind you. It stops at length thirty until you collect more food. Growing also makes ordinary movement and turning gradually slower.
What happens when two heads collide?
The snake with the larger current length survives a direct head-on collision. If their lengths are exactly equal, both lose. Touching another snake’s body always defeats your head, even if your snake is much larger. Your own body is safe.
How do I unlock skins and save my best?
Reach a best length of 150, 350, 650, 1,000 or 1,600 to unlock the five extra finishes. Bests, chosen skin, difficulty and sound settings save locally when browser storage is available. Skins are cosmetic, and progress does not sync between devices.
Can I play on a phone or pause a round?
Yes. Drag the floating joystick in portrait or landscape, and use another finger or BOOST to accelerate. Pause freezes movement and the three-minute clock. Switching away from the tab also pauses the game until you resume.
